If you are interested in going for a long walk, there is an 8km walk which takes you around the lake, just follow the Acacia Nature Trail, Casuarina Track and Lake Track. There is also a 6.4km walk which takes you up to the Trig Point lookout. You can reach the lookout via the Channel Track. There is also a short, pleasant walk from the picnic area to the dam wall.

Cyclists can enjoy riding the Commonwealth Games Bike Track. Cycling is not permitted on many of the other walking tracks, so cyclists should take note of the signage indicating which routes are suitable for cyclists.

Lysterfield lake is a popular swimming spot and non-powered boats including canoes and sailboarding are also permitted on the lake. Powerboats are not permitted on the lake at any time and the area is not patrolled, so supervision of young children is a must.

Churchill National Park is a great place to take a picnic as there are barbecue facilities (gas and electric), a picnic shelter, picnic tables, toilets and a visitor information centre. There are also toilet facilities at Lysterfield Lake.

Please note that as this is a national park, dogs and other pets are not permitted.
