The VIP room is a space is for all VIP guests who want to spend some time mingling with other guests. The lounge offers a welcoming and relaxing setting in which guests can enjoy the views of the gallery nearby, with the lounge’s outdoor balcony overlooking the National Art Gallery of Victoria and the Arts Centre.

Those coming here for a show can purchase tickets directly from the box office.

Seating plans will vary based on the type and size of each event, but here is an example of a past event held at the Melbourne Recital Centre in Melbourne.

  • We have attended several events in the Concert Hall, but the “Salon” seems a daunting place for a recital, and could not have the ambience or acoustics. Would you comment please? And if I have a distinguished guest, can they see the Elizabeth Murdoch Concert Hall?

    • Hi Trevor,

Not being a classical musical aficionado myself, not sure that any comment I make about the acoustics in the Salon would be helpful. I suggest you contact the venue if you wish to discuss the suitability of their venue for intimate concerts.

As for the Elisabeth Murdoch Concert Hall, again I recommend that you contact the venue for any special access requests.

      Kind regards,
      Jess

    • Hi Neil,

There is limited on-street parking available around Southbank or there are also some carparks located nearby:
Arts Centre Melbourne Car Park (enter from Sturt Street) – 150 metres north along Sturt Street (Ph: (03) 9281 8012).
The Australian Ballet Centre Car Park (2 Kavanagh Street) – 150 metres north along Sturt Street, then left into Kavanagh Street.

Parking for people with a disability is available in both Sturt Street and Dodds Steet (limited spaces in both areas), and also available at all major car parks in the vicinity, including Arts Centre Melbourne Car Park and The Australian Ballet Centre Car Park.

      Best regards,
      Jess
