Due to the continued evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Surf League (WSL) has postponing or cancelling all events, at all levels of competition, through the end of May. This includes the postponement of the 2020 Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach. The WSL and Rip Curl will continue to provide updates as they are available.
The Bells Beach Surfing Classic held annually in Victoria and is a professional surfing competition that attracts visitors to Bells Beach every Easter.
Commonly known as the “Rip Curl Pro” this event is the longest-running professional surfing contest in the world and is one of the best competitions on the pro circuit due to the giant swells produced by the Southern Ocean.

There are plenty of activities for visitors to engage in, both at sea and on the sand. The popular Bells contest site draws visitors in their numbers as there is a natural amphitheatre created by the dunes which give spectators a great view of the competition.
For those who simply want to relax, the scenic view of the hanging red cliffs against the turquoise blue waters of the ocean makes a magnificent background in which to unwind and enjoy the sun and sea.
Facilities available on location include a kiosk and a first aid centre. There are also toilets and showers located nearby and parking spaces. Though, travellers should arrive early to get a parking spot as they will fill up fast.
Alternatively, there will be a free shuttle bus leaving every half hour from 9:30am at the Rip Curl store in Torquay and travelling through Jan Juc and on to Bells Beach. Stops will include Peppers The Sands Resort, Wyndham Resort Torquay, Front Beach cafe, Bells Street Art Gallery and Bird Rock cafe.
Tickets can be purchased from the ticket booth at the event on the day. Please note that dogs are not permitted at the event.
