After much anticipation, the world-renowned Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, presented by Scotts Osmocote, will return to Carlton Gardens and the Royal Exhibition Building, 30th March until 3rd April 2022

Every year, thousands of visitors flock to Melbourne to witness blooming gardens, colourful trails and beautiful flowering plants at the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show; hosted at the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Carlton Gardens and Royal Exhibition Building.

The MIFGS bursts with an explosion of colour as native plant species, seasonal flowering plants and exotics bloom. The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show is the largest garden show in Australia.

Over five days, the coveted festival will unite plant lovers and flower fanatics from all ages with an enchanting collection of never-before-seen floral and landscape designs, educational talks from industry elites, hands-on workshops, and a catalogue of the latest and greatest gardening products.

Top floral and landscape designers from all over the country come to participate in this show. You’ll witness stunning displays, excellent flower arrangements and an extensive variety of native and exotic flowers on display.

Outside, plant enthusiasts will be captivated by world-class Show Gardens and the inaugural Ryman Healthcare Balcony Garden Competition. Free expert advice and inspiring displays will headline the Scotts Osmocote indoor plant zone with daily fruit and vegetable workshops at The Diggers Club Urban Farm. The NGIV Precinct will provide the ultimate backyard inspiration with stunning horticultural oases from emerging designers.

Inside, the Royal Exhibition Building will be transformed into a botanical paradise with award-winning floral displays, a dedicated wedding showcase, floral fashions by RMIT students, high tea and the Flowers Victoria Flower Market. Free daily seminars and live demonstrations will be hosted on the Main Stage and more than 200 of Australia’s best artists will headline the revamped Arts and Sculpture Precinct.

From 6pm on Friday 1st April, Carlton Gardens will transform into a twinkling paradise for Gardens by Twilight.

The Flower & Garden Show also features many stalls offering a variety of garden products, gardening tools and outdoor furniture. You’ll also find many rare and exotic plant species, retail products and innovative flower arrangements at the flower and garden show.

Whether you want some handy tips for maintaining your garden or just a day out to enjoy nature at its finest, this event is perfect for you. You will also find a range of floral design workshops and award-winning displays as well as an array of great food and entertainment offered to visitors throughout the day.

The venue can be easily accessed by public transport and is not far from the Melbourne CBD, so you can also drive to the venue and use their onsite parking. Get to the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton via tram #86 or #96 and alight at the corner of Nicholson and Gertrude Streets. Alternatively, you can catch the free City Circle tram to Victoria Parade or take the city loop train and alight at Parliament Station with a short 10-minute walk to the venue.
