Mordialloc Beach

Mordialloc Beach is fondly referred to as Mordi Beach and is a popular place for visitors and locals who are looking for a place to swim or take a relaxing walk.

Mordialloc Beach is also popular for families as there is a large playground for kids located right near the shore.

Mordialloc Beach, Playground, Restaurants & Off-Leash Dogs

Stretching for around 4kms, Mordialloc Beach is bordered by grassed areas and a large carpark. There is also a surf lifesaving club here which patrols on weekends during peak periods.

For travelling families, there is a big playground right near the shore, making for a fun family adventure as the kids play. Located in the reserve beside the beach, the playground has shaded areas and many fun activities for kids. There are slides, tunnels, climbing equipment, fireman’s pole and a flying fox. Little kids will also enjoy playing with the tic-tac-toe board and abacus.

There are unshaded picnic tables and seats located here as well as a BBQ. If you are looking for a shaded picnic area, head over to the rotunda near the Tour de Cafe. There are more BBQs, picnic tables and toilets located here.

Swimming on the beach is a popular activity on warm days and there are many shallow sections for little kids to paddle. The pier is beautiful to look at but is not suitable for jumping off as the water is very shallow beneath, however, fishing is a popular past-time along the pier. Surfing is best enjoyed when there are strong westerly winds and waves can reach up to 2 metres.

Cycling is permitted along the pathways behind the beach, however, please note that dogs are not permitted on the beach at any time between High Street and Mordi Creek. There are however many off-leash areas located nearby, including George Woods Reserve.

So bring your friends and family down to Mordialloc Beach for a great day in the outdoors!
