Signal

Signal is one of Melbourne’s finest creative spaces open to young people aged between 13 and 25 years.

This vibrant centre gives the young people an opportunity to enhance their skills across different art disciplines whilst being supervised by professional mentors.

Signal, Art Program & Workshops, Yarra & Flinders Street Melbourne CBD

The centre derives its name from the fact that it is housed in what was once a train signal box close to Flinders Street Station.

Some of the most notable skills taught at Signal include theatrical performances, fashion as well as street art. By integrating studio space with performance areas, the centre is able to host an array of workshops. Depending on the time of visit, you may find workshops such as sound editing, theatre workshops and slam poetry, amongst others.

Other events held at Signal include Clay Club where kids get an opportune moment to play and create with clay, Bits of Wood which is a monthly literary series as well as art exhibitions held from time to time. Check out the Signal Curators, a fun program for young people in the heart of the Melbourne CBD.

Signal is located on Flinders Walk in Melbourne and is easily accessible by car (park at Federation Square) and public transport (alight at Flinders Street Station).
