The Big Design Market “Almost Winter” will return at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton this May. Celebrate 200 of the country’s most coveted designers and makers, all surrounded by an “Almost Winter” forest with twinkling lights.

Prepare to be indulged with a new decadent selection of gourmet food and drinks.

Held at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton Gardens, the event will treat patrons to a wide range of creative workshops and introduce a range of independent Australian designers who will showcase their designs, as well as well-known and trusted designers who will showcase their newest products.

Get all your shopping done in one place! With over 200 exhibitors, The Big Design Market has everything from homewares and ceramics to fashion, jewellery, kids’ toys, tech accessories, books, art prints, and stationery.

The Big Design Market is a wonderland for shoppers, with thousands of distinctive, exclusive goods for sale. For those who value ethical production, sustainability, quality and creativity, this is a shopping event not to be missed!

They’re dedicated to providing the finest coffee, award-winning distilled spirits, cider and delicious fresh food for hungry and thirsty shoppers at The Big Design Market. Discover what is in store at the Royal Exhibition Building, including a mouth-watering array of take-home gourmet goodies!

To ensure everyone has a relaxed day of shopping, there is plenty of room in the aisles with enough space to stop and chat with friends and a dedicated kids area with creative activities to keep them entertained.

Treat the kids to free activities in our dedicated kids’ play area at The Big Design Market. There will also be colouring sheets and cubby houses, perfect for some engaging downtime. Materials are supplied and staff are available until 4pm to assist children with the activities. All ages welcome! Please note that parental supervision is required.

Tickets are available for purchase online before the event. You can also purchase tickets at the door using a credit/debit card. Please note The Big Design Market is a cashless event. There are several ticket points, so queuing will be minimal.

Get to the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton via tram #86 or #96 and alight at the corner of Nicholson and Gertrude Streets. Alternatively, you can catch the free City Circle tram to Victoria Parade or take the City Loop train and alight at Parliament Station.

Enter the venue via Nicholson St. entrance doors or the main entrance opposite the Melbourne Museum. Parking is also available at the Melbourne Museum undercover car park via Rathdowne Street or Nicholson Street.
