Epping

Epping is one of the fastest growing suburbs in Melbourne and is located 26 kilometres north of the Melbourne CBD. It is managed by the City of Whittlesea.

Epping’s history dates back to the mid-19th century when a village reserve was developed. Expansive projects were carried out in the region from the 1970s, and the suburb has since grown to be what it is today.

As it is such a huge residential suburb, Epping has a number of public amenities for residents including public schools, libraries, medical services as well as large shopping centres and entertainment complexes.

Pacific Epping (previously known as Epping Plaza) is the biggest mall in the area, with over 200 retail stores, food court, restaurants, cafes and large cinema complex. There are also plenty of retail stores here with a Target, JB Hi-Fi, Harris Scarf, Big W as well as three large supermarkets including Safeway, Coles and Aldi.

Epping is also home to many parks and reserves. The most popular park is Epping Recreation Reserve, a perfect place to unwind for the whole family as it has tennis courts for sports enthusiasts as well as a playground for the kids to enjoy. For those with kids, check out the numerous play centres located here including Rumbles Indoor Playcentre & cafe and Child’s Play.

Epping is well serviced by public transport with trains running from Melbourne via the South Morang Line stopping at Epping Station and South Morang Station for those on the eastern edge of the suburb.

You won’t find many accommodation options in Epping, so try the nearby suburbs of Thomastown, Mill Park, Campbellfield or Fawkner. Click the links below to explore the full range of options available.
