Parkville

Located just a few kilometres from the Melbourne’s renowned CBD, you’ll find the suburb of Parkville; bordered by the scenic suburbs of Carlton and Brunswick. Why not stay just outside the city in any of the cheaper accommodation choices here, with plenty of apartments, motels & hotels available.

Although Parkville doesn’t have any major tourist attractions, the drawcards of this area are Royal Park and Princes Park. These expansive and well-maintained parklands offer a scenic lush setting and plenty of walking and bike trails.

There are the neighbouring Royal Melbourne Zoo and the athlete’s village used for the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Golfers will also be happy to know that Parkville is home to a great golf course. The Royal Park Golf Course offers excellent pars and well-maintained fairways, with avid and novice golfers welcome to play socially.

If nature and wildlife interest you, then do spend a few hours at the Melbourne Zoo. The zoo offers a huge oasis full of both exotic and native wildlife for guests to explore.

Although Parkville is not a major tourist spot, the suburb still has some unscathed Victorian-era buildings, tree-lined streets and old-style terraced mansions waiting to be explored.
