Equitana Melbourne

Equitana Melbourne is a huge event which showcases the very best of equine competitions and exhibitions and is held each year at the Melbourne Showgrounds.

Originating in 1999, Equitana Melbourne is a fantastic family friendly event which is aimed to educate and entertain patrons over four days.

Each day, patrons will able to enjoy all things horses by engaging in a number of education sessions, viewing and testing new products, speak to equine experts and view competitions and exhibitions of some of the best riders in Australia.

Over 50,000 people are expected to attend this event and each day will present something new. In previous years, there have been a number of fun competitions and exhibitions including: Open Jumping competitions, the Australian Open Reining Championship, Australian Brumby Challenge, dressage competitions, Carriage Driving, Jump and Drive Challenge, Stock Horse Challenge and the Extreme Cowboy Challenge.

You can purchase food and drinks inside the event including coffee carts, licenced bar and fast food outlets. Alternatively, you are also welcome to bring your own food.

To get to the event, consider catching public transport which will take you directly to the venue. Catch the Melbourne Showgrounds train from Flinders Street, Southern Cross or North Melbourne.

Parking is also available near the venue at around $20 for the day and there is usually a free shuttle bus that runs from the carpark to the gate.
