Living Legends

Living Legends is a home of rest for retired race horses and tucked away in the beautiful Woodlands Historic Park in Greenvale.

Some of the notable champion race horses here include winners of the Melbourne Cup, Caulfield Cup and Cox Plate. It is a charitable organisation where the money raised goes towards looking after these amazing animals.

Come and visit the park and as there are guided tours run at 11am and 2pm each day. During your tour, you will get to learn about the different races the horses took part in, as well as their racing profile and stellar career record. If you love horses, this is also an opportune chance to learn about the breeds with a winning streak. Alternatively, you can go on a self guided tour and explore the grounds at your own pace.

Make sure to head over to the Memorial Garden where you can see where some of these beautiful animals have been laid to rest. As you walk around the grounds, you will come across mobs of wild kangaroos who call this area home, so make sure to bring your camera for some amazing candid shots.

Other popular activities here include taking a stroll in the Woodlands Historic Park along the many walking tracks located here. The trails can be traversed on foot, bike or horse.

Weddings are often hosted here, as the rustic charm of the grounds and gardens make for the perfect location for your ceremony.
