Sorrento Beach, Hotel & Resort Accommodation Melbourne Victoria

This historic town was named after the popular beachside town in Italy and has a small commercial centre which is marked by the historic Continental Hotel which was built in 1875. You will also find a huge range of shops and restaurants located in this area.

No visit to Sorrento is complete without a visit to the beach. Sorrento Beach is located 1.5kms south of the township and is a popular swimming and surfing spot. Kids will have fun exploring the many rock pools that can be found at low tide and adults will enjoy relaxing on the beach or going for a walk along the foreshore.

There are surf lifesaver patrols on the beach during peak summer periods and most weekends and there is a large car park area. You will also find a picnic area nearby with toilet facilities and a large kiosk which serves hot food, cold drinks and ice-creams.

There are some lovely walks near the beach including a short 500-metre circuit from the lifesaving club to the rotunda. Enjoy the beautiful views at sunset for the most amazing experience. For a longer walk, take the 3km Coppins Track which starts at the kiosk.

For those wanting to try something truly special, take a tour to see seals and dolphins, go on a fishing trip, take a cruise or go scuba diving. Alternatively, take the popular passenger ferry over to Queenscliff for the day to explore this beautiful seaside town.

There are so many accommodation options located near Sorrento Beach, too many to mention. However, you will find historic hotels, private B&B’s and upmarket resorts.
