Brighton is a leafy beach-side suburb nestled 11kms south-east of Melbourne’s CBD. An affluent suburb, Brighton has some of the most expensive residential properties in Melbourne.

With plenty of shops and restaurants, it is easy to see why this beautiful suburb is a popular place to live.

Brighton’s most iconic tourist destination is Dendy Street Beach. This beach is home to the vibrantly coloured 82 beach boxes that attract tourists from all over the world.

The Royal Brighton Yacht Club is popular with residents and is ideal for functions and events. Other attractions include cinemas at The Brighton Bay and The Palace Dendy Brighton. There are also huge selections of cafes and restaurants serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

You will also find a number of private and public schools in Brighton, a hospital, library and parklands including Elsternwick Park and Foreshore Reserve. There is also a dog-friendly beach here located along Sandown Street. Dogs are permitted off-leash at all times along the rock foreshore areas between Sandown Street and Bay Street.

Brighton has a reliable transport network as it is serviced by a number of railway stations. These include Middle Brighton, Brighton Beach and Gardenvale stations, all of which run along the Sandringham line. Tram services on route 64 are also available from Melbourne University to the CBD. Cyclists also get to enjoy the Bay Trail path runs along the Brighton foreshore.
