Brooklyn is home to Kororoit Creek whose course runs across the suburb before finally draining its waters in Port Philip Bay.

Brooklyn has a number of shops and restaurants for the convenience of residents with a number of takeaway food outlets, hairdressers, car repair shops and numerous other services.

For shopping, you are best to head to the Altona Gate Shopping Centre which is an excellent shopping destination.
The 4-level centre has a Coles, Kmart, Best and Less & Aldi from where you can get groceries and everyday household items. Additionally, there are more than 80 specialty stores on location for your convenience. You will find Australia Post, hairdressers, a florist, chemist, news agency, optometrist (OPSM & Spec Savers), bank, car and auto services, liquor stores, and sports and electronic stores.

Due to its proximity to the Melbourne CBD, Brooklyn has as a reliable transport network. Take bus route 232 from Melbourne, or take a train and alight at the Sunshine or Tottenham train station ( Sunbury Line).

If you are looking for accommodation in Brooklyn, you will need to stay in the surrounding suburbs, as there aren’t any hotels or motels in the suburb itself. You will, however, find some accommodation options in the nearby suburbs of Footscray or Sunshine. Click the link below to search through the hotels available near Brooklyn.
