Collingwood Children’s Farm

Collingwood Children’s Farm offers a charming country experience for city dwellers in Melbourne and is a must-visit for travellers to Melbourne.

Located just 5 kilometres away from Melbourne lies an expansive 17-acre farm of pristine paddocks, towering trees and lavish gardens. This perfect setting within the farm is what visitors are welcomed to when they arrive at this beautiful location.

Collingwood Children’s Farm Market, Cafe & Weddings

Collingwood Children’s Farm was founded in 1979 as a non-profit organisation aimed at providing country experiences for city people. The farm is open daily, and visitors can experience first-hand how to milk a cow, feed farm animals and collect eggs from chicken coops.

Depending on the season, visitors can also bottle-feed the young animals, a particularly exciting activity for children who can get up and close. Visitors can also help with the farm chores, whether it is feeding the chickens or helping with the goats in their paddocks.

On the second Saturday of every month from 8am-1pm, the Collingwood Children’s Farm Market is held. Entry is $2 for adults and you can purchase a range of fresh produce including seasonal fruit and veg, free-range meat, eggs, olive oil, honey, jams, chutneys, fresh pasta and flowers.

Travellers spending a little longer in Victoria may choose to volunteer at Collingwood Children’s Farm as a way of getting to interact with the locals as well as giving back to the community. There is no better place to get your hands dirty than at the Collingwood Children’s Farm.

Some people even book the Collingwood Children’s Farm for their wedding venue as the location is stunning for wedding photography.
