It is a great place to spend an afternoon with your family and friends and is easily accessible being so close to the Melbourne CBD.

Westgate Park, Port Melbourne Walking & Cycling Tracks & Birdwatching

The striking thing about Westgate Park is that it offers beautiful views of the Yarra River and the Melbourne city skyline. There are some great places to sit and relax or take a walk as the park retains a natural bushland setting.

Enjoy a picnic lunch with friends or family as there are BBQ facilities located within the park. BBQ’s cannot be booked and can be used on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors to the park can also cycle along the Yarra River or the Port Melbourne foreshore.

The park is also a popular bird haven with a number of wading birds including ibis and spoonbills as well as ducks, pelicans and swans. Dogs are permitted in the park, but because of the numerous wildlife here, must remain on a leash.

You can access the park via Todd Road or Lorimer Street Port Melbourne.
