AUS-X Open

The AUS-X Open Melbourne is Australia’s largest Supercross and freestyle Motorcross event, and also one of the biggest events of its kind in the world. The event takes place at Marvel Stadium, with thousands of fans watching dirt bikers battle it out inside the indoor stadium – it has been a sold-out event when held up in Sydney!

Big names in Supercross and Motorcross such as Jason Anderson, Cad Reed, and Ryan Villatopo have graced the open in the past.

Supercross is the main sport of the show, which involves men on motorbikes navigating obstacles on the track with extreme precision throughout several laps and rounds. There are four elements that comprise the sport: the beginning, a rhythm lane, whoops, and the competition. There will be 10-12 riders overall who ride between 5 and 20 laps, with each lap lasting between 30 to 50 seconds. The man-made circuit used in the show features several unique obstacles that leave the riders with little room for error. The riders compete in two categories: 250cc class, and the 450cc class.

The one-day event features a variety of racing formats. In between duels, there will be live entertainment, music, pyrotechnic shows, and giveaways. Most of the events are open to all ages, although certain shows may have age restrictions.

All patrons aged 2 years and up are required a ticket to enter the venue unless otherwise stated. Kids below 2 enjoy free admission but must sit on the knees of their parents or guardians. Event organizers recommend kids below 16 years old to be accompanied by an adult for the general admission standing section.

AUS-X Open Sydney patrons are encouraged to arrive at the venue at least thirty minutes before the show. Marvel Stadium is located on Bourke Street in the Docklands – just next to Southern Cross Station in the Melbourne CBD.
