Fed Square Live first arrived on the local event calendar in 2010, when the local band Skipping Girl Vinegar and musician Jonathan Boulet first performed. The first ever event proved to be an instant hit with music lovers across the city.
The performance by Skipping Girl Vinegar proved to be quite the highlight; featuring modern pop music and unique musical equipment. Instead of using just regular instruments, the band showcased what is referred to as “broken down instruments”. In addition, their engaging performance entertained thousands of people who gathered to watch the début event.
The set list at Federation Square caters to all age groups, with shows even aimed towards younger audiences. This event is gradually becoming more popular amongst visitors, with many flocking into the city to watch talented musicians performing.
The show performs on Thursday fortnights between 5.30pm-7.30pm. Fed Square’s free live music series features a huge line up of up and coming artists acts who will give you a taste of Melbourne’s iconic music scene.
