With the popular Light in Winter Festival held in June each year, visitors to Melbourne during the winter months can enjoy this fantastic evening event in Melbourne’s cool winter.
The yearly winter program runs all through the month of June and is held at Federation Square in Melbourne. It is an exciting experience to see the Square come to life at dusk with the creative lighting, mellow music and artistic expression.

The Winter Solstice celebration also attracts many visitors, and for good reason. The Solstice presents the longest night of the year before ushering a night of celebrations, good food, music and great company. Come along on the 24th of June 2017 from 3pm to 8pm and enjoy live music and light installations, with heaps of arts, crafts and food stalls.
Between 1 – 23 July 2017, there will also be an outdoor ice-skating rink in Federation Square which will operate daily between 10am-10pm as well as a carousel which kids will love!
Winter Feasts will fill your belly with delicious winter fare between 1 June – 31 August 2017 as you will find hot chocolate pudding, salty pretzels and heaps of food trucks selling plenty of other tasty treats.
The festival is located in Federation Square, which is easily accessible by public transport (Flinders Street Station) or visitors can park their car in the Federation Square car park for a fee.
There are plenty of restaurants and bars within the Federation Square precinct, so come and spend a night at this wonderful event.
